PHOTONMAP Wins Horizon 2020 Prize

The Horizon Prize “Breaking the optical transmission barriers” has been awarded to a team led by the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). 

The proposal, named PHOTONMAP (PHOtonic chip enabled large-capacity data TransmissiONwith high-count Multi-core fibres and AmPlifiers) was developed by three partners from the Technical University of Denmark, Denmark, Fujikura Ltd., Japan and the University of Southampton, UK. The proposal originated from collaboration between the three partners in the Framework of various funded projects including the DTU-based  Centre of Excellence SPOC (Centre for Silicon Photonics for Optical Communications), the Horizon 2020 EU-Japan SAFARI (Scalable And Flexible optical Architecture for Reconfigurable Infrastructure) project and the DTU-based Centre of Excellence NATEC (NAnophotonics for TErabit Communications).
